Visual Motivation

I know many of you have things to keep you motivated.  Some of you have incentives, or visuals to remind you of your journey.  I decided that I would like to have a little reminder of where I am headed, and where I have been.

This is my little marble monitor. With each pound I lose I get to add a marble.  I have added lines for every 10 lbs.  I made this around a month ago and I haven’t been able to add any marbles.  I haven’t really lost any weight.  My efforts have slowed down and so has my loss.  I look forward to a full vase!

What are you doing to keep your motivation rolling?

  1. THAT IS GENIUS!!! I love the visual aspect, and how people can pick various colors for various milestones--like when one stops being obese, Onederland, etc. Cool. Liking it!

For me, the only visual stuff I've done is the pics on my blog...nothing in my house. BUT...I wish I HAD thought of that before.

  2. Maybe you could come up with a visual to remind you where you have been and where you will never be again. Like an old piece of clothing or a photo from a special time.

  3. This is a great idea, I love it! Right now, I have a wall of post-its inside my closet door that count down to my mini goals. I've been working on this current wall since September. Every time I lose a pound, the post it with the corresponding number comes off. I've taken off twenty of those post-its in the last three months, and I have until December 10th to take off the rest. I'm not sure if I can completely reach my goal, but the nice thing about goals is that they can adapt and change.

  4. The only visual I have is my "fat picture" and it's only for my eyes to see. Disgusting!

  5. I just have my dress that's been telling me it's there waiting. It's been waiting since last April (or really since 1980). I just donated the last of my really fat clothes, I needed hangers and no since in really keeping them because I'm never going back there. I wish I had planned ahead when I started this journey. Oh well.
    Take care and God Bless!!
Oh by the way, love your cute little butt in your new to you jeans!! :o)
